Neuhaus Education Center (the Center) takes the privacy of its website users seriously and is committed to protecting their personal information. This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect through neuhausacademy.org and how we use it, who has access, and how we protect it. It also outlines your rights, particularly as they relate to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which governs the use of student education records.

Please note that this privacy policy applies only to the web pages, tools, and content owned and operated by the Center at this website and does not apply to any information collected outside the website.

We encourage users to read through and understand our privacy statement. We may update this statement from time to time to address new issues or to reflect changes on our website, so please check back often. What Information Is Collected

In general, you can visit this website without revealing your identity or providing any personal information. To make use of the platform, an account must be created.

When creating an account, we may collect the following information based on user type:

  • Organization Administrator: name, username, email address, phone number, password, country, state, name of school, time zone, payment information if not already provided

  • Deputy Organization Administrator: name, username, email, password, time zone

  • Instructor: name, username, email, password, name of school, time zone, Organization Access Code (optional), payment information

  • Learner: name, username, email*, password, time zone, Access Code (optional)
    (*if using an Access Code from an Instructor, email is not required)

How Information Is Collected

We collect personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily submit it. We do not use cookies or other internal tracking tools to collect any personal information about you.

How Information Is Used

Our primary purpose in collecting and processing your personal information is to:

  1. provide the products, services, and resources that you request; and
  2. respond to questions related to the products, services, resources, and events offered through our website.

We also may use your personal information to notify you about updates to the site.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Moreover, we do not share or otherwise disclose your personal information to outside parties other than third-party site administrators (for operational and maintenance purposes only).

Who Has Access to Information

We limit access to personal information based on user roles.

If not connected to another account, access to user’s information is limited to those Center employees, such as administrators, who need it for administrative and programming purposes, and to third-party site administrators for operational and maintenance purposes only.

  • Learners – If connected to an Instructor, that Instructor can:
    • View and edit: name, email, time zone, group access code
    • View: username and platform activity (progress, responses)
    • Reset: password
    • Assign: Volumes
    • Communicate: within platform
    • Activate or deactivate the Learner’s account
  • Instructors – If connected to an Organization Administrator, that Administrator can:
    • View and edit: name, email, school, time zone, group access
    • View: username and platform activity
    • Reset: password
    • Activate or deactivate the Instructor’s account
    • view and/or change account information and platform activity of Learners connected to the Instructor as noted above.
  • Deputy Organization Administrators
    • Can view Instructor and Learner account information and platform activity.

Disconnecting Accounts

  • A Learner can disconnect from an Instructor at any time in their Profile. This revokes Instructor/Organization Administrator access. If an email was not originally provided, one must be added to proceed.
  • An Instructor can disconnect from an Organization Administrator in their Profile. After disconnecting, the Instructor may be required to complete payment to continue accessing the account.

How Information is Protected

We take all available measures to protect the privacy, accuracy, and reliability of any personal information you choose to provide to us and to protect such information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We also safeguard your personal information by limiting the number of employees and third-party site administrators who may access such information and by permitting access to it only for administrative and programming purposes.

All passwords are encrypted and not visible to anyone.

How to Update Information

You will always have the opportunity to update your information while logged into your account.  Only usernames may not be changed after account creation.  If your account is connected to an Instructor or Organization Administrator account, that Instructor, Organization Administrator, and/or  any Deputy Organization Administrators may update your information.

How to End Participation

You can let us know at any time if you wish to end your participation in Neuhaus Academy by contacting support while logged into the platform. Within a reasonable time of your giving this notice, your account, including all information and activity, will be permanently removed from our platform and can no longer be viewed, accessed, or used by Center employees or third-party site administrators.  If your account is connected to an Organization Administrator account, the Organization Administrator or Deputy Organization Administrator(s) may delete your account.

FERPA Compliance

Neuhaus Education Center complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which governs the privacy of student education records.

Under FERPA, parents (or eligible students age 18 or older) have the right to:

  • Inspect and review education records maintained by the Center
  • Request corrections to inaccurate or misleading records
  • Consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information (PII), except as permitted by law
